IPM announces new scheme to support community groups

Wednesday, 25 November 2009

Community groups & partnerships in England will be given the chance to receive funding in an open competition with the help of the IPM. The new government funded scheme will allow thirty community groups, supported by active local newsagents, to get financial support to benefit their activities.

Over £30,000 from the government’s £20 million Transformation Fund is going directly to local neighbourhood self help groups and will see IPM working alongside the Retail Academy, the National Federation of Retail Newsagents and e-learning specialists MyKnowledgeMap to co-ordinate the project. This consortium will work together under the project name ‘Local Learning Clubs’.

The application process is to open this winter with the thirty successful groups being selected early in the new year. More details will become available in the following weeks.
