IPM and NABMA celebrate market professionals’ achievement

The Institute of Place Management congratulates the graduates of the 2026 Level 4 Diploma in Market Administration, who received their awards at the recent NABMA Annual Conference in Harrogate.
Dr Rebecca Abushena presented the certificates, recognising the graduates’ hard work and commitment to developing their knowledge and skills in market administration. The Diploma is accredited by IPM and has supported professional development across the markets sector for many years. The awards are part of IPM’s growing collaboration with NABMA to support market professionals and strengthen the professionalisation of the place sector.
At the conference, Dr Rebecca Abushena and Chris Gregory also shared emerging findings from their ongoing research with market managers. The research highlights the increasingly complex roles of market professionals and the contribution they make to creating lively, welcoming places and fostering community.
Congratulations to all the graduates on this achievement, and thanks to Market Place for sponsoring the Diploma presentations.
Take part in our research
There are still a few spaces for UK markets to take part in our research. Dr Rebecca Abushena is holding confidential, anonymised interviews of around an hour via Microsoft Teams to learn more about markets and the roles of the people who manage them. The conversations so far are generating important insights into the pivotal role markets play on our high streets. If you would like to take part, or know someone who might be interested, please email Dr Rebecca Abushena to arrange a time.
