Emeritus Professor of Responsible Tourism at Manchester Metropolitan University, Managing Director of the Responsible Tourism Partnership, and Chair of Judges for the World Responsible Tourism Awards, Harold is the Institute's Director for Visiting Places. He has worked on projects across the world in countries including The Gambia, India, Indonesia, Zimbabwe, Slovenia, Albania and Bulgaria.

Ares Kalandides is Professor of Place Management at Manchester Metropolitan University and a Senior Fellow and Director of the Institute of Place Management as well as founder and CEO of the Berlin-based consultancy Inpolis Urbanism. He has consulted place managers around the world, and implemented various projects in many different locations. Ares holds a PhD in urban and regional planning from the National Technical University of Athens.

Steve is a Director of the Institute of Place Management Special Interest Group for Place Making and a Senior Lecturer in Human Geography at Manchester Metropolitan University. Steve guides the Institute's work on place making and planning. He is a Trustee of the Manchester Geographical Society. Steve’s areas of expertise include High Street Regeneration and Place Management. He has conducted research on lighting and public space, creativity, and football.

Cathy is Chair of the Institute of Place Management and is Professor of Marketing and Retail Enterprise at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School, where she leads and contributes to a number of commercial and research projects in the areas of retailing, marketing and place management. She is also Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Place Management and Development and is Visiting Professor at Institute of Regional Development, University of Tasmania as well as the Higher School of Economics, Russia.

Simon is particularly involved in the Institute's work with town and city centres and the future of public markets. He is Practitioner Editor of the Journal of Place Management and Development and a former economic development consultant and Town Centre Manager. Previously Chief Executive of the Association of Town Centre Management and a Board Member of the Washington DC-based International Downtown Association and of Town Centre Management Europe, Simon is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Visiting Professor at Manchester Metropolitan University.
