Working Groups launched to drive evolution of BID sector

The BID Foundation works with its Members to lead the evolution of Business Improvement Districts, and how the sector supports its businesses and local communities.

Our priorities include increasing the impact of BIDs, advocating for the sector to national and local government, showcasing BIDs support for towns and cities, professionalising the industry through a community of peers, and acting as a custodian of the reputation of BIDs.

Join a BID Foundation Working Group

To help our group of BIDs take forward an ambitious agenda for the sector, we are recruiting members for a series of Working Groups, which will influence and help deliver a range of work alongside other BIDs and the external groups we interact with.

The BID Foundation is looking for individuals to nominate themselves to join these speciality working groups, that will work nimbly and collaboratively on related projects.

You will bring experience and skills relevant to the Working Group and give a voice to the BID sector, guiding the impact of its professional body and helping us to achieve its objectives.

The BID Foundation Working Groups are:

  • Industry standards
  • Events & networking
  • Policy & public affairs
  • Finance, membership, secretariat and governance
  • Brand, marketing & best practice/case studies

You can find more details below on each Working Group and its strategic focus within The BID Foundation.

It’s expected that members of each Working Group will meet between 2 to 4 times per quarter, depending on the projects ongoing at that time. Some co-ordination of work outside of these meetings is likely to be required but the TBF Executive recognises that each Working Group role is unrenumerated and the associated workload is commensurate.

Nominate yourself for a Working Group

The only requirements for members of Working Groups is that individuals are nominated Members of The BID Foundation.

We are looking to represent the diversity of thought, experience and background from across the sector, and encourage nominations from all those who are able and willing to contribute. This could be a good role for those looking to take their first steps onto representative bodies and Boards, or for those already used to working in this way.
