IPM expands its Senior Fellow network

The Institute of Place Management has elected 22 further Senior Fellows, considerably expanding the existing network in response to the growing recognition that place management and leadership achieves better and more resilient places.

COVID-19 has had an incredible impact around the world, and place managers and leaders have really 'stepped-up' to coordinate the response in their location. IPM is now at a very important juncture in its development as a community of practitioners, academics and policymakers. The interest in place management and leadership as a solution, a career, and a profession is at the highest level ever seen.

To reflect the growing importance of the profession and the role that place leaders have in transforming places, IPM has identified 22 more exceptional people on whom to bestow the honour of Senior Fellowship. Senior Fellowship is a recognition of an outstanding achievement and contribution to place management and Senior Fellows are appointed by a unanimous decision of the IPM Executive Board, with each individual holding the position for a period of five years. As an authoritative voice for and within place management, Senior Fellows inform and advise the work of the Institute.

Professor Cathy Parker, Co-Chair of the Institute said:

“As the IPM grows in size and influence it is important that our Senior Fellows represent the broadest range of place leaders, place makers, thinkers and shapers. Our Senior Fellows act as role models for the rest of our membership, as well as guiding the development of the profession and the IPM. All our Senior Fellows have had a profound influence on either the practice of place management and leadership, the theory and principles underpinning it, or the policy within which it operates. I am delighted that we have such a group of inspirational willing join us.”
