Safe & Secure BID webinar - with NaCTSO and NBCS (14 July)

Creating safe public spaces where visitors and consumers feel confident spending their time is a priority for our towns and cities. COVID-19 added to this challenge - with the virus and new behaviour patterns as people began frequenting businesses again and interacting, and tensions a result across many sectors.

Join The BID Foundation, the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO), and NBCS - National Business Crime Solution - for a special webinar on safe and secure BID areas.

Understanding the threat faced to security in public spaces, and the ways it can be mitigated, can help keep everyone safer. Everyone can play a role in this effort by taking steps to help boost their protective security, whether at work, at home or in public spaces.

The BID Foundation will be joined by Peter Fuller and Rob Munday from National Counter Terrorism Policing HQ, to provide BIDs with insight and guidance into the challenge of safely operating in public spaces, and BIDs roles as activators and guardians of public and private space, particularly within town centres.

We'll hear from experts on the risks and how to mitigate them, as well as the priorities of national levy payers and those responsible for protecting businesses from the threat of crime. As we look ahead to the protect duty, we'll also hear what training and skills BIDs should be looking at now, ahead of new legislation and action across public spaces in the UK.

This session is particularly relevant for senior operations staff responsible for the coordination of events and the general management and coordination of spaces in BID areas.
