IPM Case Study: FOR Cardiff-City of Arcades

FOR Cardiff have developed Cardiff Arcades which has aimed to bring a stronger local identity for residents and businesses alike.  By conducting preliminary research, it became evident that the Victorian and Edwardian arcades, were an underused asset which had great potential in helping to transform Cardiff.

This case study, written by members of Engagement team at FOR Cardiff, shows how these arcades were transformed to boost footfall, and local pride in the city.  It shows the achievements and challenges of the project. In doing so it demonstrates the effectiveness of BIDs and their ability to transform High Streets and Town Centres.

This provides an example of how BIDS can work to help towns and cities become a place for business and pleasure but also a place for locals to be proud of.
