IPM to attend UKREiiF 2025 with Professor Steve Millington

The Institute of Place Management is pleased to confirm that Manchester Metropolitan University Professor, Steve Millington, will be representing IPM at the UK Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF) 2025, taking place in Leeds.

Professor Millington will be joining a panel discussion titled “Building Now, For Tomorrow – Futureproofing Development”, where leading voices from across the real estate, planning, and infrastructure sectors will explore how developments today can be designed to serve the communities and economies of the future—while also protecting the environment.

The session will take place on Tuesday 20th May, from 1–2pm, at The Harworth Regeneration Pavilion.

Key themes of the panel include:

  • Designing for future industries and community needs
  • Balancing retrofit vs. rebuild
  • Placemaking, heritage, and the role of community
  • Meeting housing demand sustainably
  • Rethinking transport, travel, and 15-minute cities

You can see more information on The Harworth website at: https://harworthgroup.com/ukreiif/

Professor Millington will be drawing on his extensive academic and practical experience, including his leadership of the High Streets Task Force and his ongoing work across the UK supporting local authorities with place-led regeneration. His contribution will highlight the importance of community involvement, strategic placemaking, and the foundational economy in shaping resilient, inclusive towns and cities.

Professor Millington said:

“It’s a privilege to represent IPM at UKREiiF and share the importance of putting people and place at the heart of sustainable development. I am looking forward to meeting with colleagues across sectors to explore how we can build more equitable, thriving communities.”
